it should be, i will check for you tomarow. if you want some i can send you some for you to try out.

+1 for Mike Spangler's stuff. All sorts of patterns, colors, and weights. Also comes in coreless.

BTW, pulling the core out ( or buying coreless) makes it work better in my opinion.

I was going to ask if Ryan had tried pulling the center strands out of his paracord and using just the "shell". It lays much thinner and it seems like it stretches/shrinks a lot better when wrapping wet.

The synthetic cords tends to be more sensitive to heat and ultra violet rays than the natural materials. Natural fibers also seem to accept sealers better.

james....i appreciate the advice....what i was lookingfor is definately notparacord though.....i have seen somemakers use it but i'm not surewhatit is called.....lycosa might be rightthat it is hemp....not sure.....ryan

tai-thanks forthe info-what typeof cordingdo u use for your turks heads and wraps.....is it hemp?......ryan

I prefer tightly woven cotton cord, but have also used hemp. Rattan also works well, but sealers don’t penetrate as well. There's also wool, silk, and other natural materials to consider. Generally, the finer the fiber and the tighter the weave, the better.

Pohan Leu used hemp cord on my Kozuka. Will L. gave Po some advice also, I think. I love the hemp on my kozzie.

If you are after the cord like Jimmy Lile used on the Rambo knives its Decoy tiedown cord. You can get it at about any sporting Goods store.

i googled it and it seems like whati was talking about was cotton cording.....guess i'll try that and see what happens....ryan
