I have made a few knives with cord wrapped handles but I saw a knife that had same (ray skin) under the cord wrap and the epoxy was dyed black. I have plenty of para-cord and same but have no idea what to use to dye the epoxy black. Do you buy a specific epoxy that is already black? Do you use dye or paint to mix into it to turn it the color you want?
I thought about trying some leather dye but didn't want to ruin a perfectly good knife trying to scrape it off if it didn't work.
Does any one know what to use? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I have some 2 part epoxy from Golfsmith store that is black. There are a couple of them here in Columbus. Where you at in Ohio?

Cincinnati. I don't think that we have any Golfsmith stores here but I will check the phone book. Thanks.

If you mix 1 drop of india ink or a fountain pen ink into your epoxy it will turn black. Use as little as possible to get the desired color if you plan on using the strength of the epoxy for a bond of any sort.
