Just recieved my Subcom FB. I'm wanting to know if anyone has come up with a way of wrapping the bare handle and would like to share a pic or two.

I suppose I could have some scales made but I want to keep things simple.

Great blade BTW. I did put it through a few swipes on a Sharpmaker and baby...is it slick!

CLB, good work Bro.! Great designs.

Pinoy ka ba?

Thanks everyone.

Aloha and mahalo hatchetjack!

I have seen scales placed on an SFB by chaxknives.com...looks very trick, and Chax has great prices and all kinds of materials to choose from.

About chord wrapping, it is a bit tricky, but here is my production proto chord wrapped. Yes, it is ala Strider, but I been wrapping like this with shoelaces waaaaay back in the day. :D

As you can see, it enables the blade to still lock into the sheath. However, ya really gotta pull the para TIGHT or it'll slide off the butt of the SFB sometimes. Either a spot of epoxy or better tying on my part, will solve that though.

The ends of the para can be then made into a fancy fob or tied as a loop...

Hope this helped, and sorry, I don't speak Filipino, and um...you CAN stop laughing at my chord wrap now...:D

God bless and mahalo for your kind words!
Keep us posted please:thumbup:

Startin to get a few spots on that knife Chad you wanna send it to me and i`ll clean it for you ?? ha ha

IMHO.....No need to wrap the handle...it's perfect the way it is!!!......Doc:thumbup:

And much more hygienic. I don't understand why people would ever choose chord-wrapped handles for a user knife. :o
Micarta-Scales are a whole different story. :D

Strider wrap always looks good. Thanks! I just wanted something to take the edginess away. I'm trying this out for now. The extra knots give my remaining fingers a little more to hang on to.
