Cord wrapping

Hello!

I am looking for some flat cord material, to wrap handles like in a traditional Japanese sword. Can someone help me.
Thanks in advance.

Hi Ivan..Check out Fred Lohman's website. www.involved.com/katana/
He has just about anything you can think of for building or finishing and restoring Japanese style blades. He has both silk and cotton flat braid for handle wraps. I think silk runs about $3.50 per foot and cotton is $1.00 or $1.50 per foot.

Also check the Culpepper Mother of Pearl website for terriffic rayskin deals. Don't have their address handy at the moment, but I'm sure it is on the forums somewhere.
R.J. Martin put me on to them and I'm sure glad he did.

Hope this helps..

Thanks for the tips, Gary. I already know both suppliers (and actually bough some rayskin from MOP during the Blade Show) but was wondering if this traditional type of cord would work well if soaked in glue - that´s why I have not gone straight for it.
Best regards
