Cord Wraps??can anyone teach me how?

I'm planning on making some small tanto style knives which I would like cord wrapped. can anyone please explain to me how I do this? Any books? thanks

I buy the flat cord for wrapping sword handles from the Fred Lohman Co. It is expensive to buy this.
A flat shoelace can be used for small knives. Buy the 72 inch laces. They are about a dollar and you get two per package. It works good.
