Cordura vs. Ballistic Nylon

Some more expensive travel bags and soft shell suitcases are made of ballistic nylon instead of Cordura. Is there a major differnce or is it just "looks"?

1050(and higher) denier ballistic nylon is tougher than the average 1000 denier Cordura. The weave is bigger and the material feels rougher. I had a FMA stick bag made from 1100( it think...might have been higher) denier Black ballistic nylon. It should last me forever.
