Up for sale is my Core Camper pattern
This pattern I called the camper however it could be used for so much more than just a camp knife. It has comfortable, contoured handles for periods of long use and a balance point just behind the ricasso at the front finger grove. For those who prefer a larger knife, bushcraft, wild game prep, food prep around the camp, this one should be able to handle the load. It has a convex sabre grind with a micro bevel and it very sharp. The scales are stabilized Oregon Myrtle with nothing on else them. They're hand sanded to 1200 and buffed lightly with some black compound. When I got there scales I wasn't sure how I would finish them out. Tung Oil or maybe something else. Then as I was sanding these scales, I feel in love with the wood. There is something primitive about the look.
I always take the scales as far forward as possible and try and eliminate dead space at the ricasso. This time I brought them was up to the grind and I'm in love with the feel. It allows the user to choke up over the blade at the plunge for added leverage on those difficult notch cuts. I'm really pleased with the feel.
