Coronavirus knife findings

I'm pretty sure any UV light you have at home is not strong enough to kill the Covid-19 virus

Not worried about it from my knives.
If I had money though, I'd use it as an excuse to get a new knife. ;)

I already considered almost every other human on the planet to be a filthy, disease-bearing animal prior to this pandemic, so I was ahead of the curve. I haven't had to change things all that much.

The difference is that now most other people are beginning to realize how gross humans really are. :D

I don't know. Here is what my UVC light does to a banana in half an hour from 6 feet away. I had masking tape covering the light part of the banana. My knife, keys, laptop keyboard, etc. all get hit with UVC every night. Can't have plants, pets, or people in the room at the time. The room must be ventilated to get rid of all the ozone created in the process.

My Spydiechef has been my go to for a while for this reason. A trip to the sink is no fuss for it.

My fiance has auto immune disorders, for context. Is this putting too much thought into it? Probably. But I feel a little better doing it.

Until your stand offs and hardware start to rust! :(

Oh ok, it's UV-C so that's a serious light. Yeah don't let anyone get exposed to that sucker.

ROFL what a bunch of stupidity. Once you start that it's like taking fifty medicines; each one to counteract the effects of the other. Just like the nitpicking the defects on a low priced production knife.

Yeah, buy all the gadgets, just like the preppers did for the y2k scare, build your bunker for the nuclear attacks like in the 50s and 60s, etc. You will live until you die... been licking your phone? Suck on your fingers? Shave off all facial hair etc? My knife is clean enough. Almost 70 had no sickness from pocket knife use. Scared much wimpos?

You seem upset.

UV light sanitizing only working on areas the light can reach. Nooks and crannies are not sanitized. I remember reading about mobile phones and germs. Yeah.......public pay phones in the past. Lord only what germs we're on them. We lived.

I'm glad you got a laugh. Not the first time I've been called stupid. Live your life however you see fit, I'll do same.

I think everyday grime on the handles of knives, and everything else, is a bigger issue for most. Though I SHOULD have one of those phone soaps for hotel TV remotes. A dark ages plague victim's underwear is probably cleaner than those things.

You guys are mostly fighting me on this but damnit.... I'm trying to give you an excuse to buy a new spydiechef, a Siren or a fixed blade and you guys are missing the ball lobbed over the plate for you!
I'm not making much money for the last 4 months..... since I have lots of knives, knives are not a purchase priority at the moment. As far as cleaning stuff, I do that, but not excessively. Social distance, yes. I wipe my cell phone down every day. I wash hands frequently. I try not to touch my face area and I often wear a mask to make other people more comfortable around me. I find that if I wear a mask, I touch my face far more than otherwise and the experts say your face is the primary pathway on infections. Wearing disposable gloves is a very good protective measure which I do if I am at the store.

I don't need an excuse to pickup a new knife. Only excess funds.
