Corporate/office pocket knifes (Traditional knives only please)

I have a pretty large edc rotation going but almost all of the knives I carry to work in my office are in the 3.5" closed range or smaller. The least scary looking to other people would probably be my single spay blade Charlow with yellow bone handles.

If I needed a very unobtrusive pocket carry it would be this Robeson ShurEdge swell center pen. Flat, light, and lots of cutting power in a beautiful package.

not necessarily an office but as a waiter in a retirement home I was required to wear a button down shirt, black pants, and a bowtie (this of course I did not mind). the pockets were never all that big so I usually brought core items from my other pants: zippo, bandana, wallet, keychain (with leatherman squirt on it. I was also self proclaimed handyman fixing vacuums when they broke down), tin of grizzly (for post work walk home), and a small knife for various tasks (note, this may seem like a lot but considering my friends call me a walking hardware store, this is light-weight for me!) usually my peanut, my sak cadet, or my mini trapper made its way into my waiter pants and if any of them were ever pulled out in front of people, it usually brought fond memories or comments in respecting the classics from the residents.

As a school teacher there isn't a way to carry at work. :( Just another reason to enjoy my summers that much more. You guys get to carry some beauties based on the pics.

For two or three decades, I carried one of those below. One is still part of the daily routine, but now supplemented with another knife of the day, choice depending on what the day will likely involve.

Vic Classics are good pocketable "office" knives — invisible unless you're wearing very tight pants, and even when displayed, they are all but guaranteed not to freak anyone out. The blade set, though limited, is handy enough for office tasks.

Recently, I got a silver alox Vic Cadet, which feels funny as it's the junior version of the Wenger Standard Issue, a much more familiar item to me. (Camper pattern knives are a common daily carry for me.) I haven't decided yet if the Cadet is really a substitute, but it's certainly flatter in the pocket and less likely to print on your clothes. It also has a bigger and more robust blade set than the Classic. YMMV, as they say —

Totally awesome, Gary. Would you be so kind to name them? (Too bad you don't like stag!)

Left to right; Ohta Wharncliffe Trapper (single blade), Joel Chamblin Sway back jack, Ohta (don't know the model) single drop point blade, Ohta Small Camper single blade, Joel Chamblin Wharncliffe Trapper, Ohta Sway back gent, Brent Cramer Lanny's Clip Jr.

I don't like stag much at all! ;);)

For office work, I've carried the Old Timer 108 (small stockman); Buck 309 or 305; or a Case Peanut. Small, dependable and handy for most any task, particularly the coping blade on the Buck 305.

I don't work in an office anymore. When I did, I carried a Gerber Harsey Air Ranger II in my back pocket with no one really noticing.

Now I carry whatever I want that doesn't get in the way. Mora 911 Quicksnap, SAK Trekker/GAK, Buck 110 or 112, Roselli Vaarinpuukko, and so on.

Sweetheart works in the corporate world and carries the SAK Classic on her keychain. It's come in handy, she tells me.

When I must brave the office, its a Case Medium Stockman in blue bone, or (less traditional) a Fallkniven U2 or Spyderco Pingo.

I'll take a picture later.

My most common traditional suit pocket options (all but the #9 and Peanut go in pocket slips):

GEC #9 Esquire in black horn
Case Peanut in chestnut bone
GEC #15 Radio Jack in ebony
GEC Half Congress Forum Knife (white linen micarta)
GEC #47 Viper in smooth white bone
Hartkopf three blade in black horn
GEC #65 Ben Hogan in stag

I wear a suit every day.

Today, I had two GEC two blade trappers ( a #23, and a #73). I also had an Opinel #10 and #8, and a modern folder one handed folder.

When I get into the office most go into my top drawer and a few go out on the desk so I have a couple to look at and fondle.

I transitioned from a home office to working in an office off site, so my twice a week suit has become a 5 day a week. I am in an out of the county jail usually at least once or more a day, so I have to leave everything in the office about 50 yards away.

Because of that, I don't often carry my nicest knife to work (too worried a client/defendant will duck into my office and snag it............).

I don't down size for suit carry, but I do use pocket slips for the nice folders, which saves on pocket wear, and suit holes/rubbing.

These two were in slip sheaths at work today.

these three get carried to work a lot.

The J. Oeser only comes to work occasionally, because I don't like leaving it in the office when I am in court or in the jail.

The Queen/Pardue is a nice one to fondle while sitting at the desk.

These two Barlow's go to work a lot.

I work in an office environment and I carry my GEC model 73. It really fills all of my everyday needs. You are probably sick of seeing these pictures.

GREAT recommendation. I too have done my time in office/wear-a-tie-every-day hell, and you can't beat a Classic (or perhaps my favorite, the Rambler). It'll handle anything you need done. If thickness is an issue, the alox Classic can't be beat.

I work in a "cube farm". The company for which I work has specific regulations as to how large a pocket knife I can carry. 2" max length blade and 4 1/2" max opened length. It's hard to find a traditional knife that meets those parameters. Even a peanut is too large.

I've tried several traditional knives. The one I carry most often is a Buck 305 Lancer. I find the blade shapes well suited for my needs. The knife is very well made.

As a security officer at a fairly upscale shopping center I'm required to wear a suit and tie at all times, that combined with my country's knife laws would see me carrying nothing at all. Instead i carry small and innocent, can't go wrong with a stag 'nut :)

I wear dress clothes to work every day, often a suit. I carry a small modern pocket knife clipped in my right pocket, but I carry a traditional victorinox in my left pocket in case I need to use a knife in front of those who would be sensitive. I rotate between a Victorinox soldier, trail guide, recruit, and tinker.
