This shorted version of a corpsman's Knife (also called a Bolo) is a chopper with a lot more to offer. The main cutting edge is flat ground making good efficient chopper. The rounded point is convex ground with a hair popping edge is good for digging and prying. The cutting area near the guard never makes a very good chopper so this one has been hollow ground, with a sort of half round, to a thin edge making a good draw or push knife and great for making feather stick and other fine cutting tasks. The forward half of the spine is rounded to be used to breaking things like opening coconuts and allows for battoning the knife in splitting. The back half is squared off sharp and can be used as a scrapper and striking a ferrell rod saving the cutting edge for finer tasks.
The handle is long and comfortably which curves down allowing it to be snapped in the hand with the wrist while chopping. A brass finger guard adds saftey insuring the hand doesn't slip up on the cutting edge.

Blade Length: 8 inches from tip to guard
Overall Length: 14 inches with a brass guard
Hanle: Nicely figured Mango wood from the Big Island with black spacers and attached with loveless bolts and epoxy.
Sheath: Coyote Tan Kydex with black Kydex belt loop and paracord braid. The holes along the side are drilled
for a large Tex Loc
