Hey, a while back somebody asked about what we did to prevent corrosion on carbon blades.
I took this blade on a 3 day 2 night trip in the wilderness. The only thing I did to it was wipe it off and once or twice I rinsed it off. Also cut acid stuff like a watermelon and a tomato since we had a picnic before and after.
Used it a lot for zip stove wood too and it was still shaving
Here it is after I came home and took a tiny bit of steel wool and rubbed the blade and then mineral oil. There's a few spots near the handle but mostly clean with minimal effort:thumbup: The flecks on the blade are little peices of leather from inside the sheath that stuck to the oil on the blade.
I usually bring a tiny bit of steel wool with me. I did on this one but just for curiosity sake I'd just do the minimum and see what I ended up with.
