Cougar in the Chi...

What a Tragedy, Chicagos finest at Their &%@:* normal Level, with their budget and manpower no dart gun! Sorry for the rant spent summers in park ridge (Big money Pristine suberb), trained at chanute for Auto pilot. went back for a refresher course around 82 and snuck away from my grandfathers house to have a few, unfortunately i ended up at at leo hangout within long walking distance in my dress blues, home after 10 months in Assad, training avionic flight on 16s and 131s. Ran into 3 drunken leos on a last chance power drive! After handing them their AZZZ, their freinds showed up, 10 -15 can't really remember, but the freindly beating they gave me was one to remember, but on the bright side they did not arrest me, just let me lay in the parking lot! Kinda like the cougar, but i crawled away! Absolutely no respect for wildlife or nature! Byproduct of their lovely surroundings and Piss-Poor choices of their departments human resources division. Tranquilizer and relocation too much, or just gun happy rectal circles! Check out chubby running down the sidewalk, cougars are faster than doughnuts! But not Bullets unfortunately for this magnificent animal!

That was a pretty sad story. They should have tried to trap or tranq the thing first before getting trigger happy. It didn't look like that cougar was threatening anybody. Sheeple city folks got all paranoid and excited and probably reported that they were in danger. That Cougar was lost and totally out of its environment. It was probably more scared than the people.

Totally agree. If it was gnawing on someones head then I could understand but if not, I am sure there is a zoo there that could tranq it.

Ban, you're totally right, but remember it's Chicago, police there seem to shoot first and then ask questions. One of our top cities on the crime list this year again. Amazing that they've pretty much outlawed firearms there, and as you can see (just like in DC, Baltimore...) it's made the area far safer for humans and cougars. Nice city...

Politics aside. It just goes to show that gun control is working  NOT!!!

It is just sad to see such a magnificent animal killed for no good reason. I can just imagine how lost and scared that couger was in its final minutes. I would like to see how those guys would have fared if they were thrown into a pit with a hungry cougar let alone a whole pride.

What do you want to bet that it was some dumb dude's pet that escaped. Like that guy in NY that had a croc and a tiger in his apartment, trying to make it "an eden" then the tiger mauled him, and the emergency room people recognized that it was not dog bites.

It was probably better that they smacked it. With pets, and young kids, it would better to be safe than sorry.
