Cougar, mangled deer, rain torrents, friends. (WARNING, DEAD ANIMAL PICS)

wait.... wait.... You were really gonna confront a cougar with a Junglas?

So do your friends get tired of hearing that loud clanking sound when you walk from your giant steel testicles?

Yes.

Though I had always assumed the clanking was from carrying so many knives in one pack.

If it was actually a cougar it probably was not a bad idea. They usually stalk you, so running towards them shows that you are aware of them, and aggressive. Provided you don't corner them they should back off realizing your more trouble then you're worth. Maybe.

Great stuff Bushy, the Cougars worry me a million times more than the Bears !

as for confronting one (wild cougar) , yeah, that was entirely my intent. Its called LIVING, unlike the "safe" mollycoddled world we live in in which everyone stays in their safe little protected world. Some of us enjoy extremes. I enjoy pushing my body's limits and trying to go further. I enjoy animal encounters, be they visual or interactive, like surprising a bear ion the blueberry patch. . If i die while doing the things i love to do, all i can say is this: I had fun

I cannot stand being in the outdoors with people that "play it safe, dont take chances, etc. I'm here on this earth for a short time and i'll be damned if i'm gonna cower like a scared sheep at everything that is percieved as dangerous or risky. Forget that, i want to have fun and experience the world to its fullest, and one of my ideas of fun is rushing a cougar with a camera and a head cleaver in my hands.

your milage might differ.

which ones Pit? the bar cougars or the wild ones?

too bad you didnt get any pics of those turds in bags on the sides of the trail. damn those people piss me off :grumpy:

Awesome pics bushy..makes me jealous...i hate alberta.

just as a note to all of you, not to start anything, but i have hunted big cats quite a few times...by the time you see them, be it a cougar, a lynx or a bobcat, they probably knew you were there 10 miles ago...they are the ultimate stalkers..chances are the cougar in your area was watching you guys at a distance bushy...They rarely run at you either...rather they will wait till you enter the treeline and the will just drop on you from a tree..3 of you with big blades against a cougar are very good odds...cougars dont like fights...the more resistance you have the more likely the cougar is to lose interest in you..

you cant track big cats...thats why when you hunt big cats, you use dogs to "flush them out". I have full confidence bushy, that you could defend yourself with a junglas against a cougar..just remember though, they always see you first...somthing to consider. Ive been there done that and had the living sh*t scared out of me.

I find it interesting that the cougar didn't pull the deer out of the stream to eat it. I have a hard time picturing it laying there in the cold water the whole time.
