Could anyone advise me on the Kukhri House

I would like to get the WW11 two model w/ the alloy handle, the price is great but I am not sure if the quality is there? I have heard some great things about them though.

It is made w/ some kind of spring steel, maybe 1085 or 1095 ?

any feedback would be appreciated

I have used a number of them. The quality is definately lower than Himalayan Imports from what I have seen. They are decent blades as long as you don't expect to subject them to significant prying. The spines are really soft and thus you can bend them pretty easy. They are commonly described as being made from spring steel, usually assumed to be 5160 or similar. I don't think it is all the same stuff though as some of the ones I have seen rust like L6 (pretty much instantly) and others act like 52100 (slow patina).

Several months ago I tried to purchase several and was eventually bogged down with rediculous overkill while trying to pay for them. First they wanted a xerox copy of my Credit Card, then a couple of days later they wanted a xerox copy of my Drivers license, finally they asked for a copy of my Passport....:jerkit: I gave up, dissapointed and angry because I had friends waiting for me to pass them along to them also. Not worth the hassle (especially if you have ever heard of Identity Theft).
