Could I use Kydex for handle scales?

Hi,

I need to find some very thin handle scales (1/16" max). The .06" kydex is the right thickness, and I'm guessing very durable.

Is there any reason why I couldn't use this for handle scales. I was just planning to epoxy them on.

Thanks,
Jason

I would guess that epoxy will not stick to kydex, try a test. Kydex will dent when dropped but should be ok for a handle. Try to rough the bottom prior to glueing and see if you can ge a test piece to stick.

I would try roughing the surface up and using some adhesion promoter from an auto parts store.

Or rivet the suckers on there.

I have used it the epoxy did NOT stick after sanding the smooth side with 80 sandpaper is worked like a charm
