Posted in the Benchmade forum section too but thought others here may have some thoughts;

Don't get me wrong I love the standard full size versions and I enjoy my Mini but...

...my mini is just a tad too small to see as much pocket time as I thought.

I love other knives at around 3.25 inches hence the "Midi" suggestion i.e. in between the two sizes. My bet is that heaps of us would pick one up even just to try it and Benchmade would add another major seller to their range.

Thoughts?

I'm thinking add an extension bar that makes the blade get longer.. but only after the feature is unlocked by paying an additional $50 to the manufacturer.

I was actually being serious, I'm not entirely sure that you are... :|

Benchmade 72x series is an answer. Especially BM 721 and BM 722. Sad they're discontinued.

Would be cool

If you've never had one, I'd highly suggest a 940 variant. Same blade length as a full size griptilian, but keeps a much smaller profile in the pocket.

Strong argument could be made for it being the single greatest modern folder ever. That or the Manix 2 lw. Just my $.02.

Doubt that would ever happen, but it might be cool.
I would second the 94x suggestion. Amazing knife!

Not for my money. I'd like to see an XL Grip with a 4" blade, though.

Okay how about this;

Right now there're the Mini and the Standard 'full' sized versions. What if that became this;

Mini > Midi > Standard > Maxi

That takes came of all those who want bigger. If any Benchmade deserves a line expansion it's the Grip IMHO.

I'm only half kidding with this...

FYI I do already have a 940 - thanks for the recommendations though ;)

For a benchmade inbetween the Mini and full size griptilian give the volli a try. I really like mine especially after removing the assist spring.
