Hey guys, ive come across this knife a short while ago from a family member who had acquired it a long time ago. They didn't know anything about it, and niether do I....Im at a loss. As far as i can tell no stamping anywhere is visable, heavy rust on the metal of which is the handle covered by what is elk/dear/hell...maybe ivory??(not sure) The handles LITERALLY seem to been HAMMERED in with nails.. The "guard" looks as if its brass, but again not sure...the sheath is possibly copper as i see it as a reddish/brown.
Ive also noticed that on one side of the sheath there is a belt loop made. To me it looks like something more made out of some1's garage before they headed off to war, as opposed to a factory.
Ive been wanting to know more and more about it!, im guessing it is from around WWII's time? maybe WWI?... but again im not sure... ANY info would be welcomed
..
Once i know more about it, ill know what to do with it...As a knife collector it makes a great addition...but theres just a bit too much "mystery" i need to know what i have.. heck, if its worth a pretty buck i might even think about selling it.. Although that'd depend on its "history" of course
Thanks again!
