could this be a potential problem

Nice! I really like stag with strong horizontal figuring like that. I know most people go crazy over popcorn stag, but I like this style better. Thing with this style is that is when you get some thin edges because they happen to fall in one of those long valleys. I dig the look though, looks like a nice knife.

Sorry, late to the party.

Stag is one of those things that is different for everyone. I have customers who say, "I love the concave stag" and I have people who say, "I hate it."

That one shouldn't be a problem. If it ever is, we'll take good care of you. If you don't care for it, send it back and we'll exchange it for a different one.

I love stag. I love knives. Getting one that is exactly what you want, even with great pictures, is sometimes a difficult task. We're here to help make it a little easier. :)

Gee whiz, Derrick, you're gonna give dealers a bad name with that attitude! ;):p

(Good on ya...)

I have several stag handled knives, with various degrees of "hills & valleys", but so far they've never split. I have had a couple get chipped, from riding in my pocket with change, keys, etc., but generally stag is pretty strong stuff.

I'm diagnosed with OCD, so I definitely prefer things to be symmetrical, but for some reason I've never minded the variances in stag handle scales. I guess that to my eye, the thick areas, thin areas, pits, and "popcorny" bumps add a lot of character. I've even got a Case 6.5 "Bonestag" Stockman that is hand carved to look like stag, that is thicker on one side than the other. I liked the look & feel of it too much to send it back.

And, of course, with that pic that Elliott put up, now I'm wallowing in envy. That Kerry guy sure makes some purty things . . . ;)

I make a request when I order a new knife that the scales show as much difference as possible. It's not a guarantee that the scales are "organic" but IMO the more variation between the front and back scales the less chance it's a manufactured material. Out of approx 300 peanuts in my collection only two are not organic one is a celluloid and the other is brown micarta. Not much chance of dissimilarity/mis matched scales if they are manufactured material.

everything is all good derrick

i just wanted reassurance that it would'nt be a problem down the road & Blues gave me the info i was looking for.

i also feel 110% confident that if a problem arose you would take care of it

And this is exactly why KSF is my traditional dealer of choice. Great folks to do business with. :)
