Could use some direction.

thumb opening and liner lock gymnastics are out for me.
I'm getting to the same point as you. I have many 110s some that I have painful experiences of trying to close because the lock bar is so difficult to push down. I read in this thread how another member loosened his. I have done this with mine and it has drastically improved their operation, Here is the link to the thread, the relevant posts are #45 and #47.

Modern Case… they have light pulls.

I like my Opinels. They’re not high end but they’re easy to open, close, and stay open when you want them to, thanks to the locking collar. If you want something similar that’s nicer/higher end, check out the French “Nontron” brand. Same design as Opinels but nicer, seldom seen, and somewhat unique.

Can't go wrong with a Case Trapper. Smaller and lighter than a 110, but a good size--can carry in pocket or belt sheath, easy opening, two large useful blades.
The two I have been carrying the most (and I am over 60 with arthritis) have been my friction folder Opinel No. 8 and my Victorinox Recruit. The Spartan and Tinker are great too. Heck, just about any medium size SAK is great.
