Depends on the type of bear. A black bear is going to be easier to trap than a brown.
With the resources that a normal person is carrying on their body, I doubt that it would be easy or worthwhile. If I was still mobile, I'd rather haul ass than hope a bear will fall for my spear trap or deadfall. For those who don't know, a bear's sense of smell is several times better than a bloodhound. Getting all sweaty digging your pit or raising your deadfall is going to leave scents that the bear will pick up.
Here's two pics of a 1000-1200 lb. brown bear taken in Alaska (not me). Think again about the size of the your pit, the sharpness of wooden stakes or the weight of the deadfall you'll be needing. If it were me, all my "stakes" would say 7mm Rem. magnum on them.
