Yes--that is very much just a guess because it is very lightweight. The sheaf only weighs about an ounce.

Your second knife is a Khodmi of the Berber Tribes of north Africa/Morocco/Algeria. Well made blacksmiths knives of the various Berber tribes. I have three of them. Also known as a Bou Saddi. Khodmi are very well forged knives and will take a wickedly sharp edge. Google has much info on them.

HOLY COW--there it is! Thank you SOOO much! That makes total sense because my Dad used to put in to a lot of Mediterranean ports and would visit bazarres and such--brought home lots of interesting things. Thank you!

I would have guessed that too, it looked certainly African to me but not being an expert I don't like throwing out wild guesses.
