Council Tool mail order

i plan on ordering a Council Boys Axe through the mail. its for my Nephews Eagle Scout present this fall. has anyone ordered from Council on the InterWeb?? i'm concerned about the grain...

Greetings! I ordered direct from Council Tool with no problems, but then I did find elsewhere on the web for a lot less in shipping and in some cases free.

Here's the grain on mine:

Not perfect but fine for what it is. Of course I'm assuming it varies somewhat from axe handle to axe handle.

I ordered the standard Hudson Bay in 26" and it had perfect grain in the handle. Personally I made out quite well, but I heard it can be a mixed bag. Overall, they stand as a quality US axe maker in my book!

Probably (as a comparison from the pics only) I'd venture that Council Tool Co USA are producing a similar (or better) product that Cyclone Industries make here in Australia. Id grab one, pretty sweet looking axe!

Also I just checked out thier website! very impressive range!
