This is my nicest CS knife. Had to get me some Old Steel before it's gone. First impressions
- Construction is solid
- Tri-ad lock became smoother after a few openings
- Stippling is nice, but I would probably sand it down some if I were really carrying the knife
- Thumb ramp is strangely slippery compared to the rest of the knife
- Centering is perfect
- Holes in the handle make it easy and fun to switch grips
- Overall, I'm happy!

Nice grab!

Yes, it is. What does that mean?

I thought "Old Steel" was a term used to describe knives made by Cold Steel under Lynn Thompson, before they were bought out by GSM.

No offense was intended. If you're happy with the knife that's all that matters. I have nothing against the new Cold Steel.

I see what you mean, no offense taken.

I guess "Old Steel" to me means that it was something designed by LCT, manufactured by the same factories. I'm not sure if the new logo negates that.

I, too, freakin love the Counter Point series and I’m not a rich man, but I had to own all 3 sizes (I like bigger knives but what I do is clip the smallest one inside of my boot in the winter-another reason I like Cold Steel clips is because there is no way it’s coming off unless I pull it). Freakin great knives. I actually took a little tension off the spring in my Counter Point XL yesterday, and it was a lot smoother. It can always be put back to factory as I didn’t cut it. Just a tiny bit of an adjustment. Now if they can start making some ‘colors’ of these like a blackout/DLC how they did with the new Kobun, Ti Lite, Espada, etc. I’m going to have to get those too. GSM do it!
