Counterfeit Fiddlebacks!!! Warning, and Request for Help!!

That douche UDamascus was a referral from a customer/buddy that I unfortunately exchanged photos with in an effort to source exotic raindrop Damascus which did not work out. That bullet fakeyback was actually made in NJ by my customer/ friend just to show me he could. The pics were shared by my bud with the Paki guy UD.
I DESTROYED it because it was POS. 20200910_205300.jpg 20200910_205249.jpg

I emmerse myself in hobbys because I get bored easily. Covid has kept me home and bored20200910_175648.jpg since March. I found myself collecting fiddlebacks because they are beautiful and comfortable in hand. My collection has some issues ranging from rust spots on blades (01 steel) to proud pins and bullets from micarta that was not allowed to stabilize sufficiently before it was used which left adhesive bonds broken.

Andy took it upon himself to write a article
http://knife-gear.com/get-a-grip/

This article showed how easy it would be to make pocket carry users i would not be afraid to scratch, that i could make mostly myself with some help from friends familiar with tool making, that would ultimately have minimal materials cost. Let's be honest, forged in fire confirmed that every guy in America could be a Smith with a mini torch and a hammer :)

I pretty quickly ended up with this.

I have a composites background from building boats, making the micarta was pretty simple.

Grinding the tapered tang had a learning curve but I figured that out in about a week. The Mosaic pin was a once and done. The blade grind is hollow because thats all my buddy can do. I ruined every blade grind I attempted ( no jig ). That is the only difficult part of making a knife using the material removal method IMO. Another buddy works for a tool maker that does heat treating in house.

Folks, G gotboostedvr6 contacted me by phone last week. His name is being dropped by the people behind Unique Damascus. I do not think he has anything to do with importing counterfeit Fiddlebacks.

Its unfortunate that this is how he became known in my forum.

@gotboostedvry - if you have any issues with Fiddleback Forge Knives you own, send Phillip an e-mail. ( phillip@fiddlebackforge.com ) He can help you get repairs and warranty work done. We almost always go way behind our warranty. We can fix any problem the knife may have. I assume you bought these used?
