Counterfeit ZT 0562Ti's?

I’m 100% sure I’ve seen them. I didn’t save the url where I saw them though. The knives on the counterfeit sites change all the time. Many vendors on them have a weird system where they will have 200 models listed in their “virtual store.” Then you come back the next day and they are all gone. So just cause you don’t see one there now doesn’t mean its not there.

I don’t really want to look through the counterfeit pages but I have seen them as well as many other models that don’t come in full Ti from the legitimate producer. (Full ti Microtech Socom Deltas, Full ti Spyderco Lionspies, full ti Spyderco Southards, full ti ZTs of all sorts, even the 452 before ZT made the official full ti zt452 and yes even full ti 562s)

If I see it again I will pm you the link.

This has nothing to say about whether the one you saw was real or not. I have no info on that.

This is awkard, because I can't tell you that you didn't see something, but I checked the big offenders, and they have all kinds of 0562's on there -- including some I don't think are even offered by Kai -- but I saw no variants in full, plain titanium. So.....yeah. And when I say "the big offenders," I am, admittedly, not including the place by the water nor the rain forest, since we know that at least *some* of their knives are legit. I'm talking about the two places on the net that don't sell any original Spydercos and ZTs.

Yeah those are definitely some good places to find counterfeits. However there are other places where one can find rarer counterfeits. Also the models these counterfeiters make change over time to what is popular.

For example there is a company out of Hong Kong called MG. They have since begun making original designs but used to make “high quality” Strider SnG clones among others. You won’t find their SnG clones on the big chinese sites today, but they are out there.

Or look at well known counterfeiter Kevin John. His fake Striders used to be all over the net and he stopped making them. Now you can’t find them. Actually there are cloners marking their clones “Kevin John” to try and ride off his reputation of making “high quality” clones.

If you were to try and find these knives right now you would almost certainly come up empty. That doesn’t mean they aren’t out there. Likewise jjst because we can’t find full ti 562s right now doesn’t mean some cloning outfit wasn’t making them at one point. (They were I just can’t remember who)

It wouldn't take much for a 0562 clone to be turned to a 562ti clone. Most of there tooling is set. It's just a matter of making one more ti handle. Cnc parameter would be pretty close from standard. Let's hope it's not the case. Also if I recall zt will snag you if selling below there set prices. I beleive the have the advertised price of course it being more on there site. They have a set price retailers are not able to drop below. This prevents there products from taking a price drop. Hence people controlling the market by dropping value.

I figured those prices on that site were for suckers. Why would you pay full retail on an auction site from someone that you don't know at all? Your theory about PayPal is interesting. Don't most people have credit cards? And I didn't realize that the big retailers don't take PayPal.

Is the knife possibly a customer return being offered at a discount or maybe a display model?
 
I have seen clone 0562 knives with full Ti handles, but they had a distinct diamond plate pattern on the Ti. I haven't seen any clones that visually match the 0562Ti.
 
No offense but this kind of funny considering a lot of ZT stuff (aside from blade steel) doesn't look or feel any higher quality than a lot of $20-$30 Chinese knives.Very overhyped,overpraised,overpriced,and boring knife brand.

I wish I had local shops like that! MAP is the best any around here will do (HOB) and/or match BHQ, most local stores will sell at full MSRP (gun shops, big box etc).
 
So what zt knife so you have? What Chinese 30$ knife has titanium, a stellar warranty, and live people you can talk to? Usually people who say no offense say something that is offensive after that.

Had a 0566/Hinderer Design once and just didn't like it...felt generic to me.There's nothing 'overbuilt' about them.Titanium is a nice aesthetic but stainless steel framelocks work just fine.When I look at a lot of their knives I see the flipper approach and some of the loud/tacky colors (regardless of materials)...I think of MTech.

I used it for 2 months...didn't impress me.If you scraped the ZT,USA,and steel type of the finished surfaces it would blend in with a lot of cheap knives.
 
This sounds like whine and cheese to me. I have a ton of valid points but this isnt the placd. Maybe I can take you out to whine and dine you. Didn't mean to de-rail the thread to op.
