Anyone have any of these? Are they pretty good?

I'm looking at ordering some things from CC soon, and thought about getting handful of these.

How long would the battery life be? Would there be any way to make these strobe?

Thanks!

Luke

I have a bunch, sprinkle them everywhere, in the car, each room etc. They're made like what you would expect for $1. The switches are kinda fussy and the rings will probably break off pretty quickly, but i haven't broken the clip yet. They are most useful in clipping to the inside of kit bags, backpacks, toolboxes etc. Don't know about battery life, though i've had some up to two years with on-off use and they still are bright.

I don't think you can easily make them strobe. Inside it's just two batteries and the LED, that's it. No switch even, the slider just pushes both batteries to touch the LED. If you want fancy voltage regulation and flashing or brightness control, you have to step up to a photon or something.

I purchased 100 of them and have given them to all my friends, their kids and to all my family members. You can't beat the price. They are amazingly bright, especially the orange ones. I don't know why the orange ones appear to be brighter than the black ones, they just are.

I also have many Photons and these are just as bright, but the Photons are built much better.

For the price ($1.00) you can't go wrong.

I've been handing them out, too, and the orange ones are very popular. :)

I think the reaason they seem so bright is they not only cast a beam, they light up the case for a nice pumpkin glow!

I got several of the white LED keyring models a couple of weeks ago and they put out a lot of light for their size. I just ordered more of them now to give away to friends and family at Christmas time. My first order arrived quickly.

I went to the link posted above. The px on the site is $3.00? Are they on the site for a dollar elsewhere or is this a px raise?

Go to the home page and navigate from there. The $3.00 ones have the clip. the $1.00 model just has a keyring.

I don't think you can beat them for the money. great little lights to scatter around the house and your gear.

If you don't mind buying from China, and waiting awhile for them to come in, you can go to dealextreme.com and get the "fauxton" (fake photon) keychain lights with switch. I think they were $5.00 for 10 of them and that included shipping. I have ordered these several times and sometimes a few of them don't work right, but for .50 cents I don't mind a few failures.

These don't have the clip lik the countycomm does though.
