Guys & Gals,

Been a lurker for years on this forum. Very informative and entertaining. Very little negative things to say because the mods keep things well under control. Which is why I'm posting here tonight. If I need to be moved to another forum or banned (I hope not), then so be it.

I just checked countycomm.com (my favorite gadget site) for what's new and cool. There was a link for "Knife, Non Metallic, Non Magnetic", so I clicked on it. There were a few pictures of the product posted (as they usually do), but one kind of, well, disturbed me. It was of the synthetic knife and a multi-tool laying on a piece of cloth with what appeared to be Arabic writing and a persian pattern surrounding it. I'd post the link, but I'm hoping there's a joke somewhere that I'm missing.

Again, I'm not trolling or anything like that, but does anyone else find this odd?

If I'm wrong (and believe me, I hope I am), let me know.

Thanks,
SpecialK

I noticed English lettering on the bottom right hand side of the posting. Looks like a warning for someone in a middle eastern country not to bring something somewhere. Didn't mean to ruffle any feathers. Been through 9/11 firsthand and didn't want to see it again.

My apologies, County Comm. (but please make your intentions clearer next time)

Thanks and always lurking,
Al

This is not the proper forum. As you said, County Comm is your favorite gadget site, and we have a forum for Gadgets & Gear. Until we know more about the picture, we can't make it political, so Gadgets & Gear it is, not Community. (Moving ...)

As I was moving the thread, you posted again. To add to that, note the patch and the multitool: EOD. Note the X'ed out items at the bottom of the flyer. Explosive items, do not touch. I don't read Arabic, but I'd say this is a handout for people, maybe even kids, in areas with unexploded ordinance.

No need to apologize. Personally, I wouldn't have let it stop me from buying one of the knives even if they were made in an Arabic-speaking country.

Thanks! Been out of the service for over twenty five years. Guess I'm out of touch! Please do what you wish with thread.

Again, no disrespect to County Comm, many thanks to you and keep up the great work,

Al

I didn't question the country of origin, just any potential motive. No harm intended. I'd buy it too! :D

They do so much business with government and military, I doubt they'd be dealing in anything suspect.

Aong similar lines, Kershaw's Shun Komachi Series, although these have metal blades under that color. :)

Lmao...it's a plastic lettuce knife, you can buy them at any kitchen store. Just google "plastic lettuce knife" and you will find dozens of these in various colors and designs.

Now the FGX Nightshade Series from Cold Steel is a different matter...

Countycomm is a good company run by good people, from whom I've received nothing but excellent customer service.

Another vote for the good folks at County Comm...

My only complaint is that their stuff is very insidious. You buy a carabiner here, an LED light there, a peanut ligher from over here... and the next thing you know you have bought 70 dollars worth of stuff that you can fit into one pocket!

That reminds me I need to order some more stuff....

County Comm has nothing but customer satisfaction in mind.

Bought a couple of useful items from them namely the EOD bag, Pocket Organizer, the screwdriver-pen thing and the trauma shears (which I gave away as Christmas presents for coworkers)

btw...I wasn't knocking the company at all...I have bought from them in the past and will continue to do so, I just found it humorous that they managed to place such a dark, covert, and insidious shadow on a plastic lettuce knife.

Their products are very nice, well made, and quite useful for the most part. And if I ever had to prepare a Caesar Salad in combat I would definitely want one of these.

OK, so I was 100% wrong and CountyComm retains well deserved, loyal customers. No harm, no foul. Oh, and no money left in my checking account after I place my next order with them in about 5 minutes.

Take care everyone,
Al
