Couple Ebony Bowies

Matt,

Must admit when I first read your post I was thinking these were headed for the sandbox,
as John F already asked.
Regardless, two totally awesome Bowies !:thumbup:

Really superb!

You want THE definition of a Bowie knife? Just look at Matt's pictures, each one is worth a 1,000 word definition.

I bet Jim Bowie would have wished for one of those beauties on the sand bar.

Matt, that will help even the trade deficit!

Both great knives!

Nick showed us how he brings out a Hamon. How do you do it?

thanks guys, on the hamon these are not polished to the degree that Nick, Don Fogg etc. polish there blades, hence me being able to sell them at a more affordable price point. Is simply get a good clean 400 grit hand sanded finish, etch in the standard F/C mix, then polish by hand with an iron oxide slurry. This finish also holds up very well and doesnt scratch as easy etc.

again, thank all of you for the kind words, im really looking forward to some cool weather to rejuvenate me.... been a LONG HOT SUMMER!

If this is you tired then I cann't wait to see you rejuvenated!

I was just looking at your website. There are some amazing blades on there!

Steve, i think it starts Oct. 15, not sure. I am going to check today when i get my license. Going to TX some point in late Oct or early Nov. to hunt as well.

Don, i thought the same thing.... nice to get something going to China.... doing my part to solve this trade imbalance :)

Now THOSE are BOWIES! I really like those, good solid working bowies, no bs, good solid gaurds, good size blades that are multi purpose...what else would anyone want?

stefan, I make at least a Bowie every 2 weeks, sometimes more. Most are spoken for before I finish the others get listed on my site and here on BF.

The goal is 1 Bowie and 2 smaller knives a week, when I get my shop set up right.
