I decided that this summer, before I head off to college, I'm going to try to go full time as a knifemaker and swordsmith. Here's the first two of that endeavor.

The edges are nice and thin, so they're quite sharp. basically zero ground, then a small secondary bevel. I've found I am never disappointed with a thin edge. The finish on the blades is quite rough at a 220 grit hand rubbed finish, designed to take use without scratching easily. The sheaths are veggie tanned leather coated in beeswax to repel moisture. There is a copper suspension ring on each.

Materials:
local oak
copper
birch bark
1075
African Blackwood (2nd one's bolster)

AOL- 8 1/2"
blade length- 3 1/2"
thickness- 1/8"

$200 each

Paypal would be best, if you have it. My email is lukethebladesmith@yahoo.com

I sure like the one with the copper bolster. Looking forward to seeing your knives this summer. Just as a note, most of the people that have seen my knife collection have picked the holly burl file knife that you made as their favorite!!

Wow! Both the knives are beautiful and so are the sheaths! The copper guard really pops with the oak. I see a Scandinavian influence in the shaping, and I really like that.

great knives Luke, as others have said. also wanted to commend you on the sheaths. i like the idea of just having the rings on them. i prefer that over the belt loop. i don't think i've seen that before. well done.
