So I had a few broken :eek: BK2s laying around, and decided to put them to use. They work well in their new role!:D

How did you end up with a couple of busted BK2's? I have a hard time believing someone had 1 broke BK2 much less 2.

Nice idea though. Looks good.

How did you break not one but two BK2's?

Bk2 highway pegs? That's pretty awesome. I would like to know where you got them though?

Ok, I can't hold back anymore. There may be a bit of subterfuge going on here... I think everybody here knows you're not going to break a BK2, short of a 10' cheater bar, or a locomotive (not sure about that either, trains aren't near as burly as the Becker...). I was hoping someone would pick up on the crappy grind lines, or how the handles don't quite fit the knife, or other little inconsistencies from a real BK2. I had some extra handles laying around, so I made up some knife blanks out of a piece of 1/4" plate. Torched them out, and cleaned up with a grinder. Notice how the grinds aren't very clean, and there is some pitting in the steel? Anyway, I came up with the idea one night in the shop (yep, beer was involved). I designed them to pivot, should I ever get the old girl leaned over that far.
Anyway, I think they are cool as hell, hope Uncle E doesn't mind my liberty with his design. They are just as comfy on the feet as they are in hand! Next mod-stippling for traction! Thanks for all the comments, guys.

We may have a spot for you on the T.M. Hunt Customs design team. You seem to have the skills and are fluent in OIP (operator inebriation programming).

Coolest mod ever?

I very much approve!

Jeremy

I don't know about coolest mod ever, but they work well. Wish I'd have spent a little more time on shaping, but its turning into a rat bike anyway, so a few rough edges won't hurt anything.
Thanks man!

I have not heard of this design team, but if they like to drink beer and burn metal, I'm in! OIP-LMFAO

Thats awesome man!
Beckers, beer, and bikes...i wholeheartedly approve! Lol

I did notice the pitting. Didn't know what to think of it so I kept my mouth shut.. :D

Bk's shatter when you hit anything hard.. Really.. There are videos out there. Not sure about the Ka-bar ones but the originals I think were said to have some flaw in the metal or temper. I know that website knife tests where they destroy them, the Becker broke just after a few strikes. Is why they only gave it 1-2 stars. I had one of the original ones, the Bk9, and missed a branch hitting a pebble, it chipped the edge a bit. I sold it for a nice price though since it wasn't a bad chip and they are out of production from that company.
