Couple of Delica questions

I have a couple of questions regarding the Foliage Green Delica. Does anyone know if this knife is available in a plain edge? I'm also wondering if anyone knows where a wire clip for this model can be ordered?

As far as I know, the FG was released in CE only at first. I believe they have added SE now, but I have not heard anything about a PE in FG. You could buy a PE black and a CE FG and trade scales, but I think that is the only current way to get a PE with FG scales.

A Wire clip would have t be custom made, and I suspect the scales would have to be modified as well. STR might be able to set it up for you.

i have a FG D4, but it is waved.

This would be a dark blue Delica unless somebody (you? ) swapped the scales between a Foliage green Delica and a Delica Wave. D4W's only come with dark blue scales, sometimes confused with British racing green from the ZDP models. It's sometimes hard to tell the color between the two of them, though, but Foliage Green is quite different.

i think its FG, might be BRG. i will post some pics later on. little late now.

based on the pics posted above, mine is 100% FG, no questions.
now, i might be colorblind or something but that is what it is. i will post pics later tonighte.

Then somebody swapped the scales. Where did you get your D4W from? Bought from a friend or used/NIB from ebay? Waved Gen.4 Delicas(Enduras) came only the way you see it in my first pics. There WAS a waved Endura 3, though, it was a forum knife. But AFAIK, it was blue, too :-)

But I'm sure FG scales look great on a D4W, too :D

looking forward to your pics. Include some other colors for comparison, if possible..... and in daylight :)

P.S.: by the way, are we slightly OT here by now? But yablanowitz provided the answer to the original question, anyway :o

ok murdoc, i think im an ass and you are correct. i think. i dunno what my problem is, but when im wrong im wrong, no two ways about it. im not gonna lie and say its been a while since i have seen the knife, i EDC it. i took the following pics outside, and after looking over them i think this D4W changes colors. anyways here are the pics, and thanks for putting me in my place. sorry about the blurry third pic.

I've been having the exact same difficulty enix. That was my thread that Murdoc originally posted those pics in. It STILL looks like BRG to me, but I'm now pretty sure that it's just my eyes playing tricks on me. I'm glad I'm not the only one around here who thinks it looks green! As I mentioned in the other thread, I now really want to get a knife with BRG scales so I can see them side by side in person.

i hear ya salamander, i looked at outside and inside all day, and it still looks green, nat as much, but some.

You're not alone guys :-)

this topic comes up from time to time,

and as I said, there have been VERY divergent data about the color of the waved models from the respective owner.... but in the end, it was always the original navy blue color every original D/E4W has :-)

ok enix, seems that your D4W is just the normal navy blue model that I have, too.

Salamander, be careful whishing a BRG colored knife, though ....:D my fist link in this thread features a Jess Horn C38P _BRG_ on the left side.... you don't what that :D

BRG = BurGunDy ... The abbreviation Spyderco uses in the knife names for british racing green is GRE  Would have been wise to abbreviate burgundy "BUR" or "BGY" or else

anyways, enjoy your D4W's, whatever color you see in it, it is a good knife, and that's the only thing that counts.
