Had an email this morning from Cabela's with a $20 coupon. Been wanting an Alaskan Guide 110 for awhile now so figured why not. You needed a $120 order to used the coupon so I added a 119 Special. Been meaning to grab one of those at Wally World but hadn't yet so figured what the heck. Don't know if I really saved anything but hey, they're Bucks so how can I loose.

Won't be here until late next week so maybe photos for the 11-1 picture show.

The Cabelas 119 probably comes with a leather sheath, but yeah your right! They are Bucks so you can't go wrong! ;)

Looking forward to 11-1!!! :D

That would be a nice surprise. I was thinking the 119 at Wally World has a synthetic sheath. Getting leather would be sweet!

Starting to get a little anxious mostly because I've not ordered from Cabela's before. Order was placed on 10/21 with an expected delivery date of 10/29. Both items are listed as in stock but as of a few minutes ago when I checked my order, it still says "in process". CC has not been charged.

WoooHoooo!

Decided to call Cabelas and was informed that, contrary to what their website said not only had my order shipped but it's scheduled for delivery TODAY!!!

Man, the next three hours are gonna drag..........................

Cool! You're going to love them, especially the AG.

I know that feeling. But the wait will be well worth it.

I'm sort of feeling the same way with the 2010 BCCI 110 (ironwood & buffalo handle) and the three plum colored BCCI Paperstone 110's I ordered.

 long wait

I've got a couple of those Paperstones coming my way as well. December can't get here soon enough.

Getting ready to head out for dinner but here's my first impressions.

Buck 119 Special

Beautiful!! It's sharp, sexy, handfilling and did I mention sharp and sexy? I like this knife.

Buck 110

The rosewood scales, brass bolsters and black blade are fantastic! Blade is perfectly centered and sharp! Unfortunately there is a very small amount of bladeplay side to side and when they ground the primary bevel on the left side of the blade they left splotches of the black. The primary grind is very coarse unlike the 110 I got from Walmart a few months back.

That being said I am not displeased at all since I plan on using this knife. The black will probably get worn off most of the blade over time anyway and I have no expectation that the bladeplay will ever be an issue. If it ever does cause a problem I know Buck will take care of it.

If I was getting this strictly for for a collection/display I'd probably be looking to return it. Since I'm not, it's staying put. Not looking to nitpick and don't feel I am, just being honest.

Overall I'm very pleased with both additions to my collection. Will try and get some photos up no later than the Sunday picture show.

I have a very beautiful Sambar Stag AG 110 with a slight side-to-side slip/play. Remember that there is lifetime free sharpening on the Alaskan Guide series. I figure I'll use the knife (All my AG's are users/potential users) and when I send it in for a sharpening, I'll mention the play. Until then, it won't hold be back from using it.

Free sharpening? I didn't notice that on the Cabela website.
