Couple of new finds

Bleh, my goodness just before I logged back in I found that page, lol. Now the curl of the tail is different but it sure is a place to start. Thank you very much.

That page is dedicated to daggers and they have 2 different stamps for that company. I'd guess that there have been many iterations of the lion throughout the years. But I don't know anything about the company. I just saw this as an opportunity to test my google-fu.

How did you find it grasshopper,

I did a few different things, all of which pointed me to some site talking about german daggers. I picked the first name on their list (alcoso) and did a search for "alcoso makers mark" and that was the first result. Often searching for something readily available and similar will lead you where you need to be.

The lion is the maker's mark for C Gustav Spitzer KG. Founded in 1863 and closed sometime in the 1970's.

That's a very cool page! Good find, bleh:thumbup::thumbup:
(I linked to the page just before I went home after a long work day yesterday, and for some reason, a lot of those maker's marks reminded me of beer labels. So I headed home and had a beer:D)

Now I need to find out if they had production numbers such as the 30 on my knife. I'd love to see how they stamped those blades, there only a quarter inch wide. And the walk and talk are great with lots of strength in the pulls.

Couple of searches on this site show another pocket knife but the OP hasnt posted since 2007 and Bernard Levine identified it but there is little else.
