Couple of new knives

Hi,

I haven't had much time to be around here much for a while. Nor have I been buying any knives. Not much has been catching my eye it seems. Though I have recently come across 2 that I want to share.

My old camera has died so I'm stuck with a low grade phone camera right now. So sorry for the fuzzy photos.

First is a small Case 6233 Pen. I found this knife in a box while cleaning out the house at the farm. I do not know where it came from or who might have owned it. I'm positive it was not owned by my late Father. Not only was he a connoisseur of free advertising knives, but I think it dates from a year or so after his death. My Mother has no knowledge of it either. When I got it, it was missing the shield. A quick email to the highly acclaimed Case customer service got a new replacement shield mailed to me at no cost. A drop of epoxy, and all was as good as new.

My other new knife is a USA Boker Congress. I know little of this brand, so if anyone has any information at this knife I would be grateful. I have been admiring the pattern for a while. I do have a RR Congress. And while I like the knife, to me it's a genteel pattern more suited to lazy days on the front porch rather than the rough and tumble of the work-a-day world. While the RR is slender and light, the Boker is a burly handful. I really like the stepped bolsters and the ribbon shield. Though the embossed OLDE STAG on the ribbon is perhaps a bit tongue in cheek as the scales are jigged Delrin. I do like the blade assortment of the Boker, a large spear and a large sheep's foot with 2 pen blades. A more useful selection to my way of thinking.
