Couple of questions first knives

I am just about to finish my first two knives and had a few questions for you knife-crafting sages. What do you guys recommend for a good handle pinning material? Also, I am sending them off to peters heat treat and was wondering what hardness do you recommend for 1084 and d2? Lastly, what is a decent acid etch or finish that won't instantly look scratched? I know it is a lot of questions but if you have insight into any of them that would be greatly appreciated! Thanks guys!!
