These are both made of 3/32" O1 stock. The first one is for a guy from another forum. He wanted a Hiker with red liners, he said he would supply the wood. His father used to make muzzleloading rifles, and he had some bird`s eye maple he wanted me to use on his knife. Here it is.

This one is a Hiker`s Backup, with a 3" blade, and cocobolo. It`s for one of our members here.

Both of those are beautiful.

You have any 3/32" 1095? Methinks it would make an awesome game knife in a Budget Hunter...

:eek:That wood is just amazing, Just amazing!! I really like your hiker model. Its one of my faveorites from ya.

I have a drawing for ya, Just waiting on some $, and some new 1911 grips to put on it.

Man both of those handles look amazing, it would be a hard choice to pick one but I think I would have to go with the cocobolo, the grain on that is superb !!!!

Great work !!!!

3/32"
I like the way you shaped the butt on the first one - just a little different, unless that's just the photo. Woodwork looks great, John.

I dropped the butt a little more than the older models, more of a curve.

Great lookin' knives. thanks for sharing.
They should perform very well by the way the look.

Man that birdeye maple is pretty, but the grain in that cocobola is amazing!

The guy I get my handle material from has been outdoing himself sending me nice pieces.

That hikers backup in 3/32 sounds like a winner. Whats the OAL on those. 3 inch blade with 3.5 in. handle would be nice. After Christmas I think I will have to get with you about one of those.

The handle is just under 3 1/2", but since they are made one at a time, that can be adjusted.

Do it I love mine.

My 4 5/8" Kephart from John is my main belt knife. It keeps a fairly obtuse edge angle (around 45-50 degrees) with a "toothy" finish for hard work in the woods. I keep a Hiker's Backup in my pack that sports a highly polished edge at about 30 degrees (total). Man that thing cuts like a laser...
