My orders came in today. I got the Farmer that everyone seems to really like here. I also got the Modified Hiker, Wild Turkey Model. Green scales with a wild Turkey on them. Very nice looking knife. This one came with a WW flashlight Combo free. Pretty bright lites and sturdy looking. Pretty good for free.:D The Farmer is the silver alloy scales. Xmas present for myself I guess.

I like the silver alox scaled Vics. I use a Cadet now for an EDC and I have ordered a Soldier that should be here Monday. Great knives. I think the Farmer will be my next buy or trade. I usually pair them up with my Moras when in the Bush.

Smart Man. A Vic, a Mora and a good hatchet and you are set for anything.

I just started getting into the Mora thing a few weeks ago, but I have used Vics for a while. I have used Moras before, more so now as time goes on. Not to turn this into a Mora thread, but I hear that alot of people just carry one Mora into the bush. I find that hard to do myself. I use them more as back ups to a hatchet or seven inch blade. Swiss knives are tough all around, both the Vics and Moras. They have never let me down or broken. Plus, you get so much for such a good price. My wife doesn't bust my balls for buying Moras and Vics.

not to nitpick, but Mora's are Swedish :D
both are great for the price. I stopped carrying my vic because I like my leatherman better, but I think I'll get one of the mini-vics so I can have a tweezers and toothpick.

I always mix them up. Like the Danish and Dutch.

I just got my Red Farmer today too, sweeeet!

I am pondering buying a Farmer for every kit, one for the car, utility drawer, I edc one now, one for the Emergency kit, etc. They are solid utility.

I've got the blue alox farmer, absolutely a great SAK. I edc it now, and it makes a great little woods companion.

I would never worry about going into the woods even for long stays with only one Mora. I have a light hatchet for chopping and rough work and there is just no way you are going to break or hurt a Mora using it for what knives are made for. The SAK is all the backup I would ever need. I use knives a lot nearly every day and the Mora will stand up to about anything a sane person would put it through.

My every day knife is the Vic Explorer. The Farmer will be in addition to the Explorer. I used to build pole barns and set up Steel buildings as well as carpenter work. I was always getting steel or wood slivers. The Explorer has the Magnifying glass and with that and the tweezers I could get them out easier. I have carried the Explorer every day for 35 years. I am on my third one but still have the first two. Or whats left of them.:D

I mean just one Mora. No SAK or hatchet. I understand ultralight, but just carrying one Mora is taking a chance. I don't care how strong the knife is. If you lose it, then it's gone and I wouldn't take that chance. Just got my Farmer today. I'll post pics soon.

I'm going to pick up a few for the same reason (I already have a couple along with the Electrician). They have just the right amount of required tools in a very small, slim package...great for EDC kits for the wife and kids. Plus, you can get their initials engraved on them. Wish I had time to get that done before Christmas!

I have a red and a silver alox Farmer coming from Amazon as I write this. I gave my red Farmer to a buddy of mine about 10 years ago, and I've missed it ever since! I've been carrying a Super Tinker for EDC, and have a Ranger in my PSK that I use while over here, plus another Ranger and a "Nature Company" Explorer + saw that I've had for almost 20 years.

I plan on getting a couple of Moras from Ragnar at Ragweed Forge soon...probably a 510 and a "military" model.

Cgusek111 I just noticed that big knife in the bottom of the picture... I am from Spain and that knife reminds me of the AITOR OSO BLANCO

Just a question... what do you guys think about the main spanish cuttlery brands AITOR and MUELA? All they do is 440C with a lot of differente handle styles... stag, horn, tropical woods, thermoplastic... I may start a different thread just to ask this. I got to say that I own a Muela and a few AITOR folders but I don't like it much. The muela one has stag handle, narrow tang and after some chopping the tang got play in the handle. The leather sheat is nicely crafted though.

It is the Aitor Oso Blanco. The blade looks black because of lack of lighting and I put black rubber grip on the handle. It is one of the best choppers that I've got because of the recurve style blade. I have been trying to get a hold of a few more Aitors to try out. This one is a very sturdy knife and the saw cuts great with no binding. I have handled some Muelas and like the feel, but never bought one yet. The fit and finish is great. I think Aitor and Muela have more great knives. By that I mean it's not hit or miss with most major production knife companies. But that is because of my personal taste.

If you feel like the OSO BLANCO is a great chopper because of the size... Check this out MUELA VILLEGAS and AITOR SURVIVAL

As I said... while being from Spain I tend to focus in cuttlery made in USA (sad but true) so I am looking now for a RAT 7, RD7 or something like that. That said... I agree with you that there is a nice selection of knives here that fit the budget quite well.

Let me say that I am happy knowing that some people there in USA appreciate spanish cuttlery!
