I had some Business in Rancho Cucamonga early this morning so I decided to head up early Tuesday, do some hiking, then turn in at a motel. Hiked around the Mt. Baldy area and got some GREAT pictures! UNFORTUNATELY I must have lost my first disposible camera (that had just about ALL my pics) while sliding down a huge hill (kinda like snowboarding, but a lot dirtier and without a board.....I couldn't help it :D) and not noticed it. I fell a couple times :p. I do however have a few pics from my second camera so here they are:

A tribute to my photography skills, a lot of my head.....not a lot of the scenery (Many people say they've been told they look like some famous actor....I'm told I resemble a hairy shrek :D) :

Sword in the stone:

Couldn't resist, I cut it down about a minute later....it was blocking the view :o by the way, that's actually not my finger....it was a UFO that zoomed across the frame right as I was taking the pic:

Here's the middle part of the first trail I was on. This was the easy part.....the rest made me glad I quit smoking :p :

Do you see the Eagle? Yeah, neither do I......had too much stout for breakfast...thought there was one at the time:

Even though I lost the rest of the pictures it was a great day away from work and everything else. I hope to get some better ones with my knife next time I go hiking.....the Cuyamacas are next up when I can get away.

Most definitely Mark. I we're only about 1 1/2-2 hours apart. It's crazy how many trails there are throughout your outlying area.....SD has some good ones, but not as big a variety. I saw a few around the foot of Bear that look and sound pretty good. Have you been through some of those? Trying to decide where in the Cuyamaca's to go right now when next I get out. Maybe Palomar....there's some nice trails out there.

im not real experienced with the outdoor stuff, and dont know the trails you mention. but im sure willing to go out there. bet we could drag pietrzakp along as well.

Sounds like we'll have to make a plan.....not too many hogs out here are there? Maybe we could get Bravado to come and use one of his knives :D.

I actually have pretty limited experience....I only know about how there are so many around because of maps and trailguides. I pretty much keep it to San Diego: Cowles, Misson Trails, Black Mountain (before some of the developing), some motorcycle trails out in Proctor, and a little bit of the Cuyamacas. Other than that, the only outdoors I get is the Beach during the summer and some cool canyon/mountain areas we go hill bombing (sector 9 riding) in north of San Diego.

I'm slowly getting into it though. It would be cool to get a good GPS so I could go anywhere and know exactly where I was. That would be pretty handy. Might go a couple places I wouldn't otherwise dare.

Do you remember the firestorms? Too bad that hunter didn't have GPS....and common sense ;).

I'm sure you had a great time. Beautiful pics and beautiful scenery over there!!

Nice pics Paul! Looks like you got some really nice trails out there.

Thanks Dan, actually....if I had the time there's one that goes pretty much from Mexico to Canada called the Pacific trail or something like that. I'd love to hike a portion of it!

I lived in Lake Arrowhead, Ca for several years and now I've got COPD...hmm the missing link!

Nice pics, but the agave stalks don't offer much competition for the Busses.

That's a great area to hike in.

Sections of the Pacific Crest Trail are awesome - my personal favorite is the wilderness section that goes through the Sierras, but that's a bit futher north.
