Couple pics from Tuesday

Nice pics, but the agave stalks don't offer much competition for the Busses.

That's a great area to hike in.

Sections of the Pacific Crest Trail are awesome - my personal favorite is the wilderness section that goes through the Sierras, but that's a bit futher north.

I've heard that section is especially nice.....I'll have to get some time off one of these days to hike a portion.

Yeah, my knife went through that thing like it was butter :D

nice! i went to Devils Canyon off the angeles crest highway up in altadena, ca last saturday. 3.5 miles going down to the canyon, 4 miles walking at the bottom then 3.5 miles goin up on a incline of a 2000 foot gain too the top. that incline destroyed me, im still feeling it.

Paul, you didn't mess up that nice finish I put on that knife did you????

Great scenery/pics. It makes me want to root for Global Warming so that out snow would melt sooner.

Awesome pics! :D Did you get some MUD on that TAN FBM ;)? That trail sounds right around what I like. I hiked a little further than you describe while I was out, but it wasn't on just one trail. That sounds like a great area to check out! It's on my list :D of places to see. Thanks for the word and pictures!

I most definitely did Tim :D. In a good way though. I deflowered it doing some yard work around a week ago (took down about a dumpsters worth of smaller branches from my helicoptor tree). I finished putting a near zero (but not quite) convexed edge on it and it's working like a dream! I didn't thin it out as much as some do for fear of mangling the edge with my superior chamorro stregnth (driven by rice and spam) :D. It looks a good as ever! I just got a small nick in the micarta when I fell on some sharp rocks (very steep, treacherous footing). Other than that, you'll be proud of how it looks!

I'll be sure to take pictures as the coating moves towards perfection through use!

Southern California has the best of the best. We've got mountains, forrests, desert, beaches, rivers, lakes, gambling, snowboarding, decent surf, a billion places to camp, beautiful women from all over the world, and Mexico of course.

The bad: Traffic, illegals, crackheads, overcrowding everywhere, gas prices, housing prices, and the air quality (smog, especially in the valleys like L.A.). Other than that, it's all gravy....

I've always wanted to check out Montana though :D

I love Montana, and intend to buy property there soon. THat's another reason I'm rooting for global warming -- then it will have mountains and beachfront too:D

I know a guy at work whom inherited 80 acres of land in Montana. Apparently his uncle (in law) passed away and left it all to he and his wife. They had no idea he'd owned that much land. Pretty cool  I don't know where it is.....he's been out sick for a while with some complications. I'll see where he got the land and ask for some pictures when he's well. He's an incredible photographer.

Spent lots of time on fires in that area..nasty country for fires...nice pics.

I wasn't sure, but the ridge I was initially walking along (had to come back the way I came as there wasn't any other way down) looked as if rather than a trail, I was hiking along an old fire line just wide enough for the light, flashy stuff (which was really all that was up that high). Would make sense, there were signs of a past fire up there. ROUGH country for wildland firefighting. All those rocks everywhere, bet cutting line was a sonofabitch. Are you CDF, Fed, or with a city dept?
