Hello,
I am about to buy some WI round bar to forge and I have a couple questions before hand that will help me decide on sizes and quantities as I have minimal experience with this, I have read the general info on forging it but still jave a couple ?'s. First and foremost can it be upset? Im worried it will come apart at the seams so to speak right away. Second when drilling should I just proceed as I would with steel or is there anything I should know about, drill speed feed rate, etc? Thank you!

You can do most any smithing procedure with WI. The caveat is that it forges at bear welding temps. Forge it down into the red and it will crack and split.

Your's is a very good question, since i believe upsetting could be dangerous maybe due to fiber separation tendency. Anyway do forge it at very bright yellow and take care of what's happening...don't hammer it cold, i believe it's the key to success.
As for drilling i step back as there is certainly someone more expert for suggesting the right cutting fluid, feed and speed if they know the drill size of course.
