Courier Des Bois / Voyageur Style Knife For Actual Use

A good attempt here : http://lamedesleuques.blogspot.com/2013/12/le-coureur-des-bois.html, though I wonder if period knives were full tang, or mounted like old chef knives (à soie, don't know the English term), see fig n° 7 (without end thread), like most old tools.

Yeah, no voyageurs left here, as far as I know. I should remember to use my emoticons.
I started wearing mirrored sunglasses after somebody told me I could be grand sachem of the voyeurs.:D

One of my ancestors was called a "Courier Des Bois" in south Louisiana records circa 1722. It is possible that in both Canada and Louisiana the woods runners and families were using verbal rather than written an grammatic Old World French.
