Hi Folks. I have this really nice cowboy style bowie or maybe "Field Bowie" is better as it would make a nice general purpose camp knife for sale. I made this just because I wanted to. I made it thinking that it would be what I consider my ideal camp bowie. I really wanted to keep this one and it is with some reservation that I put it up for sale. It is my nicest blade to date, I think. But I am in the knifemaking business to sell knives and the cash would be handy. :)

Specs:
Hand forged from 1075 steel, clay quenched and lightly etched
10 5/8" overall with a 6 1/2" blade, .220" at the ricasso and a full distal taper ending in a really sharp point
Guard and collar of my own 15n20 and 1080 damascus
German silver spacers
Really beautiful and really rare Madagascar Rosewood handle

This wood is really beautiful. My new favorite wood, I think. It is quite rare and not much of it to be found anymore. The dust and chips from working it look like red velvet cake crumbs. Really nice rich burgundy color that darkens with age to a reddish brown.

Price is $715SOLD and includes a really nice black tooled leather sheath with a button stud with separate belt frog. Free shipping to the US. I'd be happy to discuss other shipping methods with our international collectors.

I'll add sheath pics as soon as I get it finished. Might take me a few days.

Check, money order or paypal accepted. Paypal, please add 4% (so we'll make it $740). All funds must clear prior to shipping.

Thanks for looking.

Some nice activity in there.

Nothing about that I don't like!

Great overall shape, and the handle is just right.

Flawless John. I love that blade shape.

What is in the small hole in the butt of the handle? Machined tang end? Very nice.

Thank you guys for the kind words. :)

It's the pocket for the assembly bolt. The end of the tang has threads cut on it and the end shows the steel stepped shoulder bolt that holds it all together. Very, very strong way to assemble a knife. Thanks for the comment.

Thanks for all the comments guys. This one is heading to a new home shortly. :)
