Cowboy Bowie with Madagascar Rosewood

Looks good to me. I would think that a Cowboy Bowie would be an apt description from my little knowledge. I too like the Damascus guard and spacer, the checkered screw is a great finish! Looking forward to seeing the sheath.

Very nice John! All class... super fine execution as we all expect from you.

So is that checkering on the nut? At first glance I thought it was knurled, but for the life of me I can't figure out how you'd knurl a flat part short of some kind of specialty die.

You continue to impress John! :)

Thanks again guys.

Nick, thanks for posting. I really appreciate the kind words about my knives. It's inspiring.

Yeah, the nut is just checkered. I think it looks pretty cool. I don't know that the checkering really fits the knife, but then again, I'm not sure what would fit it better? :)

I wanted to do something different than just grind it flush and there's only so much you can do with the flat end of a small screw. Going to try a smaller checkering file next time I think.

Thanks for clearing that up John, now I'll quit pondering it! ;) :)

I think the checkered screw looks really cool too.

A damascus nut or screw would look great with this style knife as well, IMHO.
