The 4 1/2" blade was handforged by my the late compadre Gib Guignard. The handle is a pair of coyote jawbones with buffalo rawhide wrap.
The neck sheath is braintan over a bark tan liner and the neck piece is braintan with red trade wool liner. The sheath is decorated with denatalium shells, glass, copper, and brass beads, fringe, tin cone and buffalo hair dangles.

That's really cool Chuck!!! And great to see some work from our friend Gib on the forum again :)

Ray - Every time I finish up a CactusRose piece I get this "picture" of Gib sitting there tippling on a bottle of JD Black Label (no need to worry about gout ) with that big ole grin of his lighting up his face.......

I am always amazed seeing work by true artists!!! Taking an old coyote jaw and making it look like a work of art just never ceases to give me that feeling of awe. And then your ability to match up the perfect sheath...well, that's just incredible!

chuck....amazing as usual...everytime i think you're gonn apost something similar to the last one and it is always unique and very different....unbelievable...can u tell us more about Gib Guignard if it's ok....for those of use who don't know him....ryan

That's fantastic Chuck, thanks for sharing. It was a real treat to see Gib's mark again. I sure miss him too.

We all miss Gib. Thanks so much for bringing him back one piece of art at a time.
Beautiful work Chuck. I love your type of creativity.
