wrt competition cutting vs. trail clearing, my feeling is that competition cutting is harder on the person than it is on the knife, and that trail clearing is the opposite

Hi Justin, I just saw Mr. Shul at the Northwest Aviation Show in Puyallup WA this past weekend. Quite a guy and I have a few of his amazing photographic books also.
