CPK EDC2

Just put a set of edc2 scales on my edc1. Still fits in the kydex sheath. Just figured I'd pass on that tidbit of information.

Oh, and for anyone planning on changing out the screws on their edc, one side is longer than the other. Found that out after buying stainless hardware and getting home only to realize that the screws on the opposite side of the barrel are about half as long :confused:
 
Not to bug Jo and Nathan as Im sure they are all busy but I was just curious checking in wondering if anyone knew about how far into the EDC2 preorders list they latest shipments have been?

Best way to check is to peruse the EDC-2 preorder thread as Jo updates it quite regularly, even though if not in actual real-time:

Looks like orders right up to and including High Standard's before Comprehensivist's (try to say that one fast 3 times!). The pattern seems to be about 20 knives go toward the preorders around the time when 20 or so come up for the whenever Friday's sale just like Nathan had stated in his preorder OP.

Of course, the preorder folks are guaranteed an EDC-2 and also the antique edgecut micarta scales, aka the fancier schmancier handle scales, are usually exclusive to the preorder sales participants.

Thanks ... yeah I knew the sales would be going out as preorders were being finished up I just hadn't seen anyone post recently about the preorder ... and I had kind of lost track on the preorder myself with so much going on here... and was just curious.

Looks like 6 more people on the second page of the preorder list (counting 8 EDC-2s) are having their preorders fulfilled and shipped out today: 1/27 up to and including the patron saint Augustine.

TommyGun is the next one in line and hence the next group leader :p
 
Perhaps I overlooked it, but has anyone done a comparison - other than side-by-side pics - of the edc vs edc2 (meaning in actual use)?

76 (16 if i wasn't for Friday sales) more edc2's till my money turns into a knife (#87 on preorder list):D....Looks like 48 edc2's are complete from preorder sales since 12-18 (40days)

May the EDC-2 gawds forget your existence for a while and put you in the back of the line, waaay back in the line just because to watch you completely melt down would be very amusing in an evil kinda way :P :D

I would've thought that no preorders would have hindered your / our collective chances at the Fridays sales by a lot more, no?

Or did you mean that the Fridays sales prolong the preorder fulfillment process? I agree but then again, this was the the most important caveat as Nathan had very clearly stated:

Here is the order process:

I'm going to take full payment in advance and hold your money. While I think this is usually a bad policy, so I don't generally recommend it, I've been around a while, my shop is an incorporated business established in 2001, so I'm probably not going anywhere. I will ship your knife when it's finished. Once your order is confirmed there are no refunds, changes or cancellations. I will leave this preorder open for a while, once it has been open for a while or if it gets too big I'll close it. We are cutting chips on this project now, they'll start to finish up in about three months. They will ship as they're finished in the order that they are ordered in. As I'm building them, half the knives made will go to this pre-order, the other half will be sold in regular sales. This means you will see knives being sold while you're waiting for your knife.
