The first day without the ring around his neck IMG_4179.jpeg
He is getting better with all the sound of the house and back yard he likes to go inside the old play house in the backyard none of our other dogs did.

He growled the other day at me and I got very vocal with him and he rolled over belly up. But he really doesn’t care about the little dog or the cats and shares toys really well the cat was licking on a bully stick while he was chewing on it last night.

That’s great. I’m glad you all found each other.

My wife was the driving force in getting another dog so soon after Bella passed. He doesn’t replace her but sure make the house seem more like a home. We have had multiple dogs for 35 years once we had 5 at one time but three has been the normal for years. He sure puts a smile on my wife’s face mine too.

12 years ago my wife lasted three months before we brought another rescue home.

2 years ago she waited ten days for our next rescue.

(Wonder how long she'll wait when I'm gone. 🤣 )

We brought two cats with us from CA, Tesla and Tucker, both rescue and ~11 years old. I rarely post photos of them as they currently live in the loft of the (heated) garage (my wife's workshop), the cabin is too small for the 6 of us, and our Rottie has not been cat trained.

Since a bit more than a year, Tesla had intestinal cancer and received (via pills and us - daily chemotherapy). In the last 4 months or so, she started loosing weight, followed by a heavy flue for about a month. Even though she received daily antibiotics, and at ~6 pounds, she ended up with a pneumonia, and we had to say goodbye to her, Monday a week ago. 😢 RIP.

Our vet always has a handful of rescue cats, and at every vet visit, one in particular was flirting with me. A ~2 year old small female, who had her rear toes frozen off and surgically removed earlier in her life. She's called Tinkerbell (or Twinky in short). We took her home last Fri.

Over the week-end, I slept in the garage loft, helping Twinky getting comfortable and socializing with Tucker, who was quite grumpy in the beginning.

This is Tucker (you've seen him in some of my knife photos). He must be 25 pounds or so:

The two are getting along much better now, they eat from the same food station, etc. Will take a couple of weeks until they hopefully start grooming each other. So far so good.
