Well, my Labrador once literally ate a sofa — I mean, literally ate it. We had to replace it. Haha.

Smudge is awesome.

Maybe he’ll realize he got a bit carried away? 😅

Had this same issue with my boxer/rot mix

Came home one day and it looked like a t-rex ate my couch

He had to be cut open and have the wood, fabric and foam removed

When my dog, Bear, was about 9 months old, I used to lock him in my room while at work (per my roommate’s request). The second day I came home from work to find he had chewed through the wall next to the door. The drywall, a stud and the drywall on the other side of the wall. He was casually lying on the couch. I purchased a large kennel that day.
He was a Newfoundland x Lab. Large puppy.

We used to leave our 2 Tosa’s in the large kitchen with a kid gate (despite their size as they were very well behaved). Came home and they were in the kitchen as if nothing was unusual. Go into the living room and 2 Lazy-Boy chairs were shredded….. they had jumped over the gate, destroyed the chairs, then jumped back over the gate. We gave them free rein over the house after that. They never tore up anything else.

I had a Golden / Shepherd mix used to do that. He'd jump over the gate, chew out the bottom of the wall molding, maybe give a squirt, and go back where he was supposed to be before I got home. In fairness to him, as a single guy, I was often away too long, leaving him on his own. I didn't really know better at the time.

I've been a much better parent to my dogs ever since...but I still look back with a guilty conscience despite the passage of 40 plus years.

Squirrel season.

So my wife decided that we should foster a dog. So this is Ellie on a walk with Bentley we got her about 2 hours before the walk. She came from a kill shelter in Southern California, she is 2.5 and not fixed yet that will happen in a couple weeks. We will see if she finds a new home or stays with us.IMG_8365.jpegIMG_8364.jpegIMG_8363.jpeg
