This is Norman, Eddie’s brother. Eleven months old.

This is Sadie. She got cancer and we had to put her down on my birthday a few years ago because I could not let her suffer one more day. We've had a lot of other wonderful dogs but she was the greatest dog ever. My birthday has never been the same. And I miss her every single day.

I might gives folks reason to doubt my sanity but we have quite the pack now - added another rescue to the mix. Not sure what Max is quite yet but the vet definitely thinks a Rott mix of some sort - he is a pretty sweet dude.

Here are the 5 of them - I think we've likely hit our limit (we are suckers)....

Took these two backpacking again. The trails are pretty wet/muddy in Ontario so the rain pants/suits go on to keep their bellies clean/dry.


They weren't too thrilled when temps dropped down to -2C overnight.

Which belly cover is this? We use dog pants/rain suits but found the "legs" can chafe their skin on longer/wet hikes.

I think it is a Filson or an Orvis my son-in-law bought him. In any case, I doubt the weather is cold enough to let him run around on that thing. Vaseline helps, though, against chaffing and also on the family jewels.

I'll try vaseline next time! We put pet bandages on his legs but they just slipped down/off.
