Are there any other advantages to the acid wash finish besides the darker look?

Darker means less reflective if that is important in certain usages but Nathan has often said that it is a waste of $ in his opinion, because the acid wash finish wears out with use.

Alas, I only have the one acid wash finished CPK. It is a Behemoth Chopper that Nathan and Mark whittled down to an 11 inch, hollow ground, modified tanto, with a distal taper. The photo is compliments of SharpByCoop at Blade ‘23. Although I adore them all, this is undoubtedly my favorite knife.
